Between our duo and classic country band things have really been busy. We’ve hardly had time to keep up here. We’ll try to post our duo’s summer schedule soon but in the meantime here’s High Lonesome’s Summer Event Schedule. It’s going to be a great summer. Drop by at one of our events and say “Hi”! Hope to see you soon!
We had a great time in Fremont at our first outdoor concert of the season! Perfect weather, fun audience and to top it all off, at the end of our show we were presented with this wonderful drawing by Emmeline, a precious little girl from our audience. Look at all the detail she incorporated! The stage door to the left, the music stand (but you can still see the guitars), the sponsor’s banner and all the stage lights hanging above. She’s quite an artist! Thanks for making that for us Emmeline, and thanks to Fremont and the concert sponsors for inviting us to your beautiful venue!
Remember to check out our website for a schedule of all our upcoming events. You’ll find all our duo’s gigs there as well as events for High Lonesome, our classic country band! We hope to see you all this summer as we tour our beautiful state.
Wow– It’s been a busy week-or-so for us! What fun it was to play a concert with our country band, High Lonesome, at Allegan’s Good Times At The Gazebo last Saturday night, to entertain the elders at First & Main in Wyoming on Tuesday afternoon, present music to three groups of preschoolers in Hudsonville on Wednesday morning, play another summer concert with High Lonesome on Thursday night at Crystal Lake, entertain for a carnival in South Haven on Saturday afternoon, and perform during an art reception at Great Legs Winery Distillery Brewery in Holland last night!
Next week’s itinerary takes us north a bit, with a noon gazebo concert at Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey on Wednesday, Music In The Park in West Branch on Thursday evening, Stroll The Streets with High Lonesome on Friday night in Boyne City, and Musique At The (farmers) Market in downtown Harbor Springs on Saturday morning! We can’t wait!

We had a great time at our gig with the friendly folks at Great Legs Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Holland, Michigan last Saturday evening. A cozy venue offering fabulous Lake Michigan shore wines, beers and spirits. And there’s a fine art gallery too! The warm and inviting atmosphere was a welcome contrast to the late season wintry weather outside. We invite you to come and see for yourself why they were finalists in the “Best of Holland Awards”. It’s obvious Joanne and Jim love doing what they do.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the next time we’re there. You can sample and enjoy their fine offerings and we’ll play some tunes for you! –Wyatt–
This past year has been crazy busy for us and we’ve been quite remiss in sharing what’s been happening. We’ll try to get some things up soon to let you know what we’ve been up to. Meanwhile, we’ve been hard at work lining up venues for our 2018 season and things are shaping up nicely so far! You’ll want to stay tuned for event announcements here on the blog, and for the most up to date information you’ll want to refer to our schedule at http://wyattandshari.com/schedule.html
When we’re not performing as a duo, you may find us rocking out in our Classic Country Band, High Lonesome! We had a blast playing for a dance last Saturday night. This private venue is a hidden treasure and looks like something right out of a story book, wouldn’t you say?!
We’re really excited to be playing as part of a full band, and venues throughout the state are liking our sound. So along with updates about our duo, we’ll share some of our High Lonesome band news here on the blog as well. Fun times ahead!! Stay tuned!!…….. —Wyatt

If you’ve ever been to Munising before you know its a beautiful area with pictured rocks, lake front vistas and gorgeous waterfalls. And if you happen to be spending time in the area this Saturday, why not end your day with a relaxing evening of delicious food & coffee at the famous Falling Rock Cafe while we serenade you. It’s that time of year and we’re honored and excited to once again be providing the music for the annual Horton Bay Labor Day Pig Roast! Yes, we’ll be “Up In Michigan” in the town Hemingway wrote about and where he spent so many of his boyhood years. In fact he was married right there in Horton Bay! If you haven’t been to the old northwest of Michigan you really owe yourself a visit. There’s so much to see — gorgeous lakes and rivers where cool breezes caress you, scenic vistas and valleys, and plenty of fascinating historical places to visit.
And while you’re here, why not enjoy a delicious Labor Day repast in Horton Bay while listening to some great tunes by Wyatt and Shari? It starts at 4:00 pm at the Methodist Church there in Horton Bay and Shari and I will be singing all the way until it ends at 7:00 pm. Later that evening, you can walk off that scrumptious dessert you ate at dinner by enjoying a candlelight stroll under the stars at the famous “Horton Bay Labor Day Bridge Walk.” And if you make it all the way across the entire span, you’ll not only get a certificate, but there’s also a nice little reward waiting for you at the Horton Bay General Store. The perfect end to a fine day of fun, right? So why don’t you gather the family and treat yourself to some time in beautiful northern Michigan. Shari and I look forward to seeing you there! —Wyatt–
We’re back in beautiful Petoskey, Michigan where the cool breezes blow from across the Little Traverse Bay! Here’s what’s up for this week. We’re kicking off part two of our annual northern tour tonight, August 4th, when we sing at Street Musique in Harbor Springs, Michigan. The event is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and we’ll be playing on Main Street in front of The Outfitter. Come on down (or up, or over!) and see for yourself why we love Harbor Springs!
Next, on the following Friday evening from 6 to 9pm, we’re playing in the beautiful lakeside downtown of Boyne City, Michigan! Lots of great restaurants and shops. You won’t want to miss Stroll The Streets this weekend!
And finally, on Saturday morning, August 6th, from 10:00 to noon, we’ll be performing at the Harbor Springs Farmers Market for their Musique At The Market event! This is one of the area’s premier farmers markets and has been a favorite venue of ours for many years. It’s always fun to visit with the friendly and knowledgeable folks at the Harbor Springs Farmers Market!
Shari and I are really looking forward to this summer! We have a lot of fun events coming up! Here are some highlights!
This coming Friday, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, we’ll be singing at the Shagway Arts Barn in Ludington. This interesting and historic venue goes all out in support of Michigan Artists. Visitors will find photography, pottery, quilts, paintings, painted glass, carpentry and more. Guests will also enjoy walking on nature trails on the surrounding 40 acres of fields and woods. In addition, they also host a splendid summer & fall concert series. All of this takes place at the site of a restored barn built at the turn of the last century by Henry Shagway, an Ottawa Indian. Lots to see and do and we’re looking forward to being there!
On Wednesday, June 22nd, we return to beautiful Petoskey, Michigan for our annual noon time concert in Pennsylvania Park. We love Petoskey, its history, architecture and shops, as well as its gorgeous location on Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay.
Thursday, June 30th, finds us in Crystal, Michigan for their popular “Music In The Park” series. This inviting and scenic lakeside venue will feature us singing and playing our tunes from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
In July we’ll be providing music for the “Made In The USA” car show, hosted by Chestnut Fields Retirement Living in Muskegon Michigan. This fun community event is open to the public and we’ll be singing from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Location is 5425 Chestnut, Muskegon, Michigan.
Finally, at the end of July, we’re very excited about some concerts we have lined up at three beautiful old Michigan lighthouses where we’re part of an annual summer concert series presented by The Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association. We’ll be singing at Little Sable Lighthouse on July 27th and at the White River Light Station on July 28th. These are their Nights At The Lights concerts and both start at 7:00 PM. Also, on July 30th, we’ll have an afternoon concert at the Big Sable Point Lighthouse from 1:30 – 3:00 PM. This concert is one of their “Bus Days” events. We absolutely can’t wait to sing at these beautiful and historic lights.
Well, those are some highlights from our upcoming summer schedule. We have some more things planned in Northern Michigan for August, so stay tuned. As always, you can learn more about where we’ll be playing by checking our online schedule at our website, wyattandshari.com and you can also keep up with the news at our Wyatt and Shari Knapp Facebook page. Michigan is such a beautiful state and the summers here are gorgeous! We invite you to join us at any of our upcoming events. Bring your friends, bring the kids, the grandkids, the whole family too and enjoy the lovely Michigan outdoors with us! Hope to see you! –Wyatt–
We’re playing and singing in our own backyard! The Saugatuck-Douglas area boasts beautiful lakes, woods and quaint old cottages, as well as board walks, shops, antiques, retro collectibles, an original old soda fountain and even a Victorian hand-cranked ferry! Through it all winds the Kalamazoo River, slowly making its way to beautiful Lake Michigan and the beach. And Saugatuck is where Shari and I make our home in the winter and early spring! We’ve always enjoyed the art and architecture of these two little harbor towns. The area holds a special charm. It’s also home to the renowned Saugatuck Brewing Company. Now’s a great time to make plans to visit the area and when you do, why don’t you include a stop by the brewery on Thursday, June 2nd and enjoy an evening of music on the patio. We’ll start singing at 6:00 pm and keep going until 9:00. Great atmosphere, delicious food, famous crafted beers, ciders and wines, and splendid tunes for your listening pleasure! Fun! Hope to see you there! –Wyatt & Shari
